Obaseki orders closure of College of Agriculture

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has approved the temporary closure of the state-owned College of Agriculture in Iguoriakhi with immediate effect.

The state government, in a closure notice signed by Barrister Osarodion Ogie, Secretary to the Edo State Government, explained that the action was in line with its “determination to reposition the college to achieve the goal and objectives for which it was established.”

The statement added that a team, headed by Prof. Anthony Durojaiye Ologhobo, has been put in place to assist government in repositioning the college.


Other members are Prof. Sylvester Oboh and representatives of Presco Plc; Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc; Nigeria Institute for Oil Palm Research (NIFOR); Rubber Research Institute of Nigeria; Rubber Estate of Nigeria and Leventis Farms Ltd.
