Olam, in a statement recently, said the investments cover bird and fish feed mills with the capacity for 360,000 metric tonnes each in the Kaduna and Kwara states respectively as well as a hatchery with a capacity to produce 1.6 million day-old chicks weekly.

According to the company, feeds from the mills will support the production of an estimated 8 billion eggs and 100-million kilograms of poultry a year. Our new facilities will invigorate the industry by closing the supply gap in animal feed,” Olam said.

Speaking at the opening ceremony in Kaduna, President Muhammadu Buhari, said the investments will contribute to national growth and help the government in its effort to diversify into agriculture and end the country’s dependence on oil.
