NACCIMA commends FG on MSME clinics nationwide

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has expressed satisfaction with the setting up of micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) clinics all over the country by the Federal Government.

Dr Bassey Edem, NACCIMA President, represented by Chief Ndubisi Nworgu, used the occasion of the ongoing 2017 Enugu International Trade Fair to commend the government’s efforts at tackling challenges facing MSMEs in the country.

While urging government to intensify its rescue operation for MSMEs through its Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP), Edem declared that empowering players in the MSME sector is the fastest way a nation could achieve sustainable economic growth and development.

“Ninety per cent of Private Sector Operators (OPS) are in the MSME sector; they are also players in the cottage industries. They are confronted daily with numerous challenges which include access to fund, multiple taxation, inefficient power supplies and lack of basic knowledge to start and run a good business,’’ he said.

The 10-day Enugu International Trade Fair organised with the theme of “Promoting Nigeria’s Industrial Sector and SMEs for Inclusive and Robust Economy’’ will  end on April 10.
