Chi Farms celebrates decade of partnership with Aviagen

A decade of working together to promote the growth of Nigeria’s poultry industry by Chi Farms Limited and Aviagen is worthy of celebration, says Dr. Tunji Olaitan, Chi Farms General Manager.

Olaitan who disclosed this in a statement in Lagos yesterday said by supplying top quality genetics and providing top grade technical support services to poultry farmers in the country, Chi Farms has become the leading grand-parent integrator and distributor of quality day-old chicks in Nigeria.

He said this was possible as a result of the company’s partnership with Aviagen, the global leader in poultry genetics and owner of the popular ‘Arbor Acres’ broiler brand.

“We have strived to build a legacy by leveraging on this unique partnership to guarantee security of local supplies, such that today the ‘Arbor Acres’ brand is the market leader of all broiler brands in Nigeria,” Olaitan said.

He noted that having received the first ‘Arbor Acres’ Broiler Grand Parents from Aviagen about a decade ago, the AA brand had grown to become the first choice for broiler farmers and integrators in Nigeria today.
Martin Middernacht, Executive Director Chi Farms, said “We are proud that we manage to produce day-old chicks in Nigeria that have the same quality as you would buy abroad. Our investments in high tech equipment and continuous training of our staff pay off”.

He said the organisation’s poultry business has contributed to the nation’s independence from poultry imports just as both organisations are working to increase the grand-parent stock capacities in Nigeria to ensure full domestic supply.

Middernacht disclosed that a poultry school will be set up which will focus on Chi Farms’ Customer Team in an effort to provide technical services to farmers.
