WAASA partners Dizengoff on greenhouse training for 200 women

Small scale women farmers
As part of its effort to empower women farmers, Women in Agricultural Advancement and Sustainability Africa (WAASA) has signed a partnership agreement with Dizengoff to provide free training on greenhouses for about 200 women. Participants will be drawn from WAASA, All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), and Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI).

Chi Tola Roberts, Executive Director and Founder, WAASA who disclosed this in a statement in Lagos recently added that the partnership with Dizengoff will also pave the way for women farmer who need machinery for land preparation and cultivation. She said women farmers engaged in small scale farming can own or lease such equipment at relatively low and affordable prices.

In addition, WAASA has reached out to agriculture experts to bring to the fore the latest trends in farming and seeking the support of financial institutions and other agencies to help empower and aid women farmers, Roberts said.

She said WAASA is also planning to partner with Bank of Agriculture (BOA) and Bank of Industry (BOI) as soon as possible as part of its effort to empower members.
